Thriving Rural Communities
Rural Community Alliance members have a vision for just and thriving rural communities that offer access to an excellent education, economic opportunity, and rewarding quality of life to all residents.

We empower rural communities to effect change by creating opportunities in education, economic development, and youth empowerment to improve quality of life and place.
Rural Community Alliance members have a vision for just and thriving rural communities that offer access and believe change happens through informed and organized residents defining the change they want, building collective power, and taking action to improve their lives. We work to bring about change in communities with a process that starts with assessment and visioning, then strategic planning and implementation–all led and controlled by the grassroots. RCA staff supports community members with information, resources, and training.

RCA Chapters are self-governing, local organizations that agree to “act locally, think statewide.” Chapters determine their own structure, procedures, and set of local issues.
RCA members are led by Chapter Leaders that provide information, resources, and training to local groups. Members are asked to work collectively with other chapters on statewide issues.
Our work has impacted the lives of thousands of children statewide. RCA is stepping up for public schools in the face of large corporations and a growing number of elected officials.
We’re honored to have such a board and staff full of passionate, hardworking people who work tirelessly to improve the lives of low-income families in communities around Arkansas.

Rural Community Alliance’s success depends on its members. Our engaged members provide their time, talent, and treasure. Our board and staff model this concept. 100% of board and staff make financial donations to the organization while also giving their time and talent to their community and to RCA causes. Our foundation funders want to know that those who are served by Rural Community Alliance’s work recognize the value and are also willing to financially support the organization (their treasure), while also giving of their time and talent.
